Three blazes on Friday keep SHFAD crewmembers busy

SWEET HOME Fire and Ambulance District firefighters spray down a fire that ignited in an old camper on Mountain View Drive Friday afternoon.

Two separate fires destroyed an old camper and burned a quarter acre of brush Friday afternoon, April 26, in the Sweet Home area.

Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District responded simultaneously to the fires, at 3:20 p.m. to the RV fire at 40115 Mountain Home Drive and, a minute later, at 3:21 p.m. to 49259 Hwy. 20 in Cascadia, the old Triple T Studs mill.

According to the district fire report, the camper was owned by Bessie Lovik. It was old and used to store old tools. The loss was valued at $200.

The fire started when a neighbor was burning brush, according to the report. A sudden win...
