Theda Francine Pappin Escobar, 76, of Sweet Home, died Aug. 22, 2019, after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 15, 1942 in Sweet Home, the daughter of Floyd, an Osage Indian, and Beatrice (Yandall) Pappin.
She enjoyed a wonderful childhood. She spent most of her adult life residing in Santa Cruz, Calif., Portland, Vancouver, Wash., Las Vegas, Nev. and several other places throughout the Willamette Valley. She worked as an operations manager and COO with her employer and good friend, Rick Willard.
Mrs. Escobar's interests included sharing her Native American (Osage) heritage/culture/tradition and beading, and spending time with family. She devoted much of her time and energy caring for family members whenever she was needed.
She also enjoyed home décor, reading and flower gardening. She was a hard-working, fun-loving person who had a hint of mischievousness. She was particularly fond of sweet desserts, her dog, and was an avid viewer of Fox News. She will be missed for her many strong hugs, passionate Yahtzee games and her joy of life and family.
Mrs. Escobar is survived by her siblings, Jean Roberts and brother-in-law Vern Roberts, and Delores and brother-in-law Deryl Christiansen; nieces and nephews Kevin Pappin, Karin (Pappin) O'Brien, Katy (Pappin) James, Kimberly Pappin, Deryl Christiansen, Diane (Christiansen) Hirt, Rick Roberts, and Steven Roberts; as well as many other extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Escobar; brother John Pappin; and parents Floyd and Beatrice Pappin.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Roberts presiding. Graveside remembrances will follow at Gilliland Cemetery, where she will rest next to her son Eric.
Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
