Husky volleyball team members show off their trophy after finishing as state runner-ups, behind Valley Catholic.

Sweet Home's volleyball team finished second in the state tournament Saturday night with a 3-0 loss to defending champion Valley Catholic.

The Huskies swept the opposition until the final match, beating Hidden Valley in the quarterfinals, 25-18, 25-21, 25-14, then downing Philomath 25-14, 25-16, 25-13, both on Saturday.

Philomath finished third, beating Junction City 3-1, while Sisters was fourth, beating Banks 3-2 after losing to Philomath in the quarters.

Against Valley Catholic Saturday night, the Huskies kept it close for two games, 25-23, 25-23, before losing the third 25-17.
