Ricki Birran performs Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Sweet Home Library. Birran has the entire novella written by Dickens in 1843, memorized and narrates the story about Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. Birran has performed the tale more than 125 times and brings 25 different characters to life with various voices and a wide range of facial expressions. His show also includes four bronze busts of characters by sculptor Dan Chen.
