February 19, 2020

Di Lacey, COMP-NW medical school assistant vice president, Oregon campus operations, speaks to around 40 Sweet Home High School students about leadership. She talked about what she looks for in leaders in her industry. The forum was organized by the City of Sweet Home's Youth Advisory Council in partnership with the Sweet Home School District and open to all interested students. "She did an amazing job," said Lisa Gourley, YAC adviser. "The kids really enjoyed it. Huge success. Great opportunity for the kids." Afterward, five students asked about joining the YAC, which was originally created to advise the City Council on issues of interest to youths. The YAC has gone on to develop youth events and leadership workshops. The group also has set a goal to hold a couple of forums annually.
