Carla Jean Larisey Sundberg, 66, of Sweet Home died March 17, 2020 at Oregon Health Sciences University from complications following pneumonia.
She was born Oct. 7, 1953 in Lantana, Fla. to Carl A. and Patricia A. Larisey. She grew up on the west coast of Florida, graduating from Largo High School.
She married Carl Sundberg in 1973 after a courtship that included daily hour-plus phone conversations before they ever met.
She became a resident of Sweet Home in August of 2015 when she and her husband moved from Eugene, where they lived since 1993.
Mrs. Sundberg was a pharmacy tech for many hospitals and commercial pharmacies.
Her hobbies included collecting Asian cork art, collecting jewelry with a lot of bling, caring for her beloved cat, caring for a house full of plants, and playing piano. She also spent most of her life loving to sun bathe whenever and wherever she could.
She was fun, smart, beautiful and enchanting person.
Mrs. Sundberg is survived by her husband of 47 years, Carl E. Sundberg; son Carl C. Sundberg; daughters Shannon M. Sundberg and Holly M. Bradley; and six grandchildren, ages 4 to 20.
She was preceded in death by her entire primary family, including her brother, who died at age 42.
Due to the coronavirus, a memorial for her will be held in the Rose Garden in Eugene when it is safe to do so, and will include music she loved and the singing of songs written about her, written by her husband Carl.
