April 20

12:28 a.m. - Breanna Marie Mansell, 26, arrested on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft and Linn County warrant for failure to appear on original charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin and probation violation on two counts of possession of methamphetamine, failure to appear and possession of heroin, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Transported to Linn County Jail.

April 19

8:33 a.m. - A passerby flagged down officer to report a distraught female crying, west of Subway. Officer contacted the female, who was fine. She said she was crying because she can.

10:37 a.m. - Sarah Hopkins, 33, cited and released in field on Jackson County warrant for failure to appear on original two charges of second-degree theft, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department.

2:24 p.m. - Caller reported a male stole items, 1540 Main St., Safeway. Report taken. Loss valued at more than $100.

3:11 p.m. - Caller reported that someone entered Crawfordsville Elementary School and vandalized some of the classrooms, 38400 block of Glass Street, Crawfordsville. A repair estimate was not yet available.

4:14 p.m. - Caller reported a semi and trailer parked, taking up two city blocks, 1000 block of 24th. The truck was not loaded. Officer responded. The semi and trailer did not block any driveways. Owner advised for complaint. Not a violation.

7:44 p.m. - Calvin John Dorgan cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, milepost 25 of Highway 20.

9:11 p.m. - Jamie Daniel Carpenter cited for driving while suspended, 5600 block of Main.

11:46 p.m. - Frank Thompson, II, 45, cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 18th and Tamarack.

April 18

4:23 a.m. - Michael Gordon cited for driving while suspended and open container of alcohol in vehicle, 41st and Long. Callers reported a car horn sounding from a distance and a white Ford pickup honking its horn, flashing lights and going around the old airport loop twice.

6:21 a.m. - Caller reported that she has video of a male lifting up a rug looking for a key to attempt to open the caller’s door, 4300 block of Citabria. Information noted.

6:24 a.m. - Caller reported someone opened the tool box on his truck, 1700 block of Grape. Nothing stolen. Report taken.

6:25 p.m. - Caller reported that someone entered two unsecured vehicles, 1700 block of Grape. Nothing stolen. Report taken.

6:39 a.m. - Officer located a vehicle that had been entered, 1800 block of Grape. Several keys and clothing were stolen. Report taken.

6:56 p.m. - Officer located a vehicle that had been entered, 1700 block of Grape. Report taken for unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and for theft.

7:44 a.m. - Deputy located an illegal camp near milepost 23 of Quartzville Road. The camp was over the bank in a day-use-only. Deputy warned the campers, and they moved on.

9:06 a.m. - Caller reported someone entered an unlocked vehicle and took tools and a backpack, 1700 block of Grape. Report taken. Loss valued at $600.

11:41 a.m. - Deputy found an illegal camp at milepost 14 of Quartzville Road. The male cleaned up and left. A second illegal camp was at milepost 10.5, and a third illegal camp was at milepost 23. The area was busy, like a summer day with campers and visitors. Few camp locations were not in use. Thistle Creek Boat Ramp was full, with only a few open parking spaces.

1:49 p.m. - Caller found a syringe on the sidewalk, 3000 block of Main. Officer seized and disposed of the syringe.

4:02 p.m. - Michael Gordon, 38, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm and criminal trespass with a firearm, 4290 Airport Road. Transported to Linn County Jail. Vehicle impounded. Caller had reported a nephew trying to break into the house and pushing her husband.

5:42 p.m. - Tracie Lee Gates, 55, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft.

April 17

3:05 a.m. - David Olan Coleman, 55, arrested for fourth-degree assault and strangulation (domestic violence), 900 block of Mountain View.

8:01 a.m. - Caller reported a pickup ran into a minivan, Main and Highway 228. Report taken. No citations. No injuries. Damage more than $2,500.

9:26 a.m. - Judith Suzette Gaskey, 59, cited for dog at large, 1100 block of Ironwood. Caller had reported a neighbor’s aggressive dogs running loose.

11:59 a.m. - Caller reported falling victim to an Internet scam, 1800 block of Ames Creek Road. Information noted.

6:28 p.m. - Three young children opened a door and went into the back of the stadium, Husky Field. Officer contacted juveniles who were looking for an item dropped from the bleachers. Officer warned them for being at the location and social distancing.

6:35 p.m. - Caller reported a transient camp in the doorway, 1111 Main St. Officer contacted subject and told him to pick up his belongings and move along.

7:02 a.m. - Jacob Ryan Sandvigen, 22, cited for operating a motor vehicle while using a communication device, 1800 block of Main.

8:12 p.m. - Caller reported that a neighbor spun out in his Mustang, hit a mailbox and pushed his car back into the driveway, 1200 block of Clark Mill. Officer responded. Vehicle had mechanical issues. Roadway evidence suggested spinning tires. Not a reportable accident.

8:18 p.m. - Caller requested that a small black truck be towed away, south end of 4th. The caller said it was damaging the cul de sac. Officer responded. The vehicle was parked illegally, blocking the sidewalk, but it was not damaging the sidewalk. Verbal message left for the registered owner.

10:07 p.m. - Caller reported a dog howling in a backyard, 800 block of 3rd. Unknown if it was sick or injured. Officer responded but was unable to get anyone to come to the door. The dog was possibly inside howling but didn’t seem to be in distress.

April 16

1:04 a.m. - Abigael Wood, 32, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of heroin and identity theft and Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of second-degree criminal trespass, 1200 block of Elm.

3:41 a.m. - Caller reported her friend texted her saying someone shot her dog with an Airsoft gun, 700 block of Mountain View. Officer contacted the owner of the dog. The dog was uninjured. Officer checked area. Unable to locate anyone with an Airsoft gun.

8:07 a.m. - Deputy located three miners setting up near milepost 16.5, Quartzville Road. Deputy explained the current rules and closures. They packed up and moved on.

4:37 p.m. - Thomas Daniel Elmer, 49, cited and released in field for second-degree criminal trespass, 1540 Main St., Safeway.

7:52 p.m. - Caller reported a three-vehicle crash, Main and Pleasant Valley. One driver deceased. Investigation continuing (see page 23).

9:44 p.m. - Crystal Dawn Tweedy, 35, and Kory Lee Tweedy, 34, cited and released for driving under the influence, 4th and Main. Multiple callers had reported a vehicle driving recklessly, hitting curbs and nearly hitting vehicles, buildings and pedestrians. The calls started at 2000 Main St., McDonald’s and continued to 4th and Main after the driver and passenger switched at Dutch Bros.

April 15

10:31 a.m. - Caller reported a neighbor’s dog grabbed the caller’s dog out of the caller’s daughter’s hands and killed it, 1530 Tamarack St., Tamarack Ridge Estates. Caller requested the neighbor be counseled and steps taken to secure the neighbor’s dog.

2:13 p.m. - Caller reported a bicycle stolen from the caller’s driveway, 1400 block of Sunset. Report taken. Loss valued at $200.

3:25 p.m. - Lucia Marie Dubanowicz, 36, arrested for second-degree sexual abuse and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, 1950 Main St., Sweet Home Police Department. Cited and released.

3:52 p.m. - Caller reported someone burning something in a trash can, 1140 12th Ave., old City Hall. Officer contacted the subject, who was attempting to cook in the parking lot. Officer advised him of the complaint. He was cooperative and moved on.


6:45 p.m. - Kevin Richard Nixon, 53, cited for driving while suspended, Highway 20 and Harmony.

7:44 p.m. - David Wayne Samson, 58, cited and released in field on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of third-degree theft, 1501 Main St., Speedee Mart.

10:26 p.m. - Caller reported an older male digging through things, 4220 Main St. Unknown if he took anything. Officer contacted a male who claimed he was digging through cans looking for pop cans. He was advised he needed permission from the property owner. The male did have several bags of pop cans with him. Officer checked the building. It was secure with no signs of forced entry.

11:02 p.m. - Samuel Monroe Jr., 42, cited for driving while suspended and failure to install ignition interlock device, Hoy’s Hardware.

April 14

7:44 a.m. - Caller reported a male sleeping in the caller’s yard, 1400 block of Tamarack. Officer contacted and asked the male to move along at the caller’s request.

10:38 a.m. - Kenneth Daniel Helfrich, 39, arrested on Sweet Home warrants for failure to appear on original charges of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief, Eugene.

12:37 p.m. - Caller reported prescription medication stolen from her residence, 28500 block of Pleasant Valley. Report taken.

1:04 p.m. - Deputy delivered prescription medication, 1000 block of Turbyne.

1:39 p.m. - Caller reported a lock cut and door damaged, 2200 block of Long. Report taken. Damage valued at $65.

1:43 p.m. - Caller reported fraudulent charges on her account, 800 block of 1st. Information noted.

4:08 p.m. - Caller reported that someone broke into a storage box and stole items, 880 22nd Ave., Sweet Home Junior High. Information noted. Caller requested extra patrol.

6:35 p.m. - Steven Ray Brown, 35, arrested by Oregon State Police on Sweet Home warrant for failure to comply on original charge of reckless driving.

7:05 p.m. Zachariah Davis, 31, cited and released in field on Linn County warrants for two counts of criminal driving while suspended, two counts of possession of meth and driving under the influence, 500 block of Mountain View.

7:57 p.m. - Kyle Richards, 26, arrested on Linn County warrant for probation violation on original charge of possession of methamphetamine and a new charge of possession of methamphetamine, 621 Main St., Thriftway. Transported to Linn County Jail.

10:59 p.m. - Brandon Tapp, 24, cited for no motorcycle helmet, and Caden Waskom, 19, cited for driving while suspended and no motorcycle helmet, Mountain View and Kalmia.

April 13

7:46 a.m. - Rose Bernadita San Nicolas Deleon-Guerrero, 20, cited for speeding, 57 mph in a 35-mph zone, 3100 block of Main.

8:20 a.m. - Caller reported a neighbor is neglecting his dog, 2300 block of Harding. Officer unable to contact the neighbor. Officer could see the dog in the backyard, and it appeared healthy. Officer to coordinate with code enforcement.

10:55 a.m. - Officer located a transient camp, 47th and railroad trestle. Male and female trespassed from location. They were given the rest of the day to remove their belongings.

11:51 a.m. - Officer delivered prescription medication, 1800 block of Fir.

12:04 p.m. - Caller reported a logging company had lights and tools stolen from a logging site on Wiley Creek.

8:29 p.m. - Jerry Erickson, 59, cited for driving while suspended, 4200 block of Main.

8:39 p.m. - Tyrone Paul Perrine II, 31, arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving and possession of methamphetamine and cited for driving while suspended and driving uninsured, 2200 block of Long. Caller had reported someone hitting her husband’s truck and leaving. The caller’s neighbor got the driver to return.
