April 22, 2020

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its attempt to identify two sets of human remains found in the past three weeks near Sweet Home.

The first, a set of remains belonging to a white female between the ages of 30 and 50, were found on April 3 off Forest Road 417 about five miles off Highway 20 along Gordon Road, east of Sweet Home.

“We’ve found a lab in Florida that will do some DNA testing for us,” said Sheriff Jim Yon. The remains have not been sent to the lab yet, but he said he is hoping to have results within eight to 10 weeks after they arrive.
