Lloyd Fredrick Nixon, 85, of Sweet Home, died June 4, 2020 at his home following a battle with ALS.
He was born April 23, 1935 in Sweet Home, the son of Charles and Marjorie (Hoyt) Nixon.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Nixon married Rose Dadey Dec. 16, 1969 in Sweet Home. He worked for Willamette Industries and logged before starting Holley Blue Evergreens, a company that bought and sold wholesale floral products, with his wife for 30 years.
He enjoyed walks in the woods, watching movies – especially John Wayne movies – and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Rose of Sweet Home; children Sonya Vaughan of Lebanon, and Charles Nixon of Sweet Home; step-children Scott Reeder and Jeff Reeder, both of Sweet Home, David Reeder of Peoria and Deborah Goss of Lebanon; brother Charles Leroy Nixon of Mossy Rock, Wash .; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Nixon; a son; parents; and his sister.
A celebration of his life will be held in July.
