New trees planted along South Hills Trail slope that was logged

NEWLY PLANTED trees, planted earlier this year, grow on a slope at the west end of South Hills Trail.

Cascade Timber Consulting planted 137 Douglas fir and pine trees on a small section along the west end of the South Hills Trail earlier this year.

CTC is the city's timber consultant.

In recent years, intense winter storms caused several trees and large branches to fall in the area of the trail, damaging both City and private property, including vehicles and structures.

CTC assessed the entire 1.3 miles South Hills Trail and located a small section of hazardous trees on the west end of the trail.
