Feb. 6, 1923 - Jan. 18, 2020

Frances Marie Hill, 96, of Sweet Home, passed away Jan. 18, 2020.

She was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Bowman County, Calif., along with her nine other siblings.

After getting married, she moved to Grass Valley, Calif., where her two children were born and raised – son Hollis Harding “Jim” Hill Jr. and daughter Lillian Marie.

She entered the work force, hired by J.C. Penney Co., and worked there 20 years in Grass Valley before her retirement.

She then visited a few states to see where she wanted to retire and decided to move to Sweet Home, where her son retired and lived. She purchased her home on Pleasant Valley Road and lived in it 35 years before her death.

She was an avid book reader, especially her daily reading of her Bible, as she taught both of her children to follow in her footsteps in faith in Jesus. She was a member of the Evangelical Church in Sweet Home, with her many church members and friends.

She also took pleasure in planting her flowers and working in her yard, sewing, canning and visits from her friends.

She will sadly be missed by all who knew her. She was a wonderful person, mother and friend.

She is survived by her daughter Lillian Marie of Sweet Home; several grandchildren living out of the area; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Hollis Harding “Jim” Hill of Sweet Home; father Ralph Wesley Murch (Saddler); all nine brothers and sisters; infant first son James D.; and granddaughter Melanie Louise Woodward.

A private celebration of life has been held.

From Grace to Eternity.
