The New Era - All about Sweet Home since 1929

Michele Irene Andersen, 36, of Sweet Home, died Aug. 6, 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 14, 1983 in Seattle, Wash., to Eric Martinus and Suzette Cheryl (Oedewaldt) Andersen.

She graduated from Sweet Home High School in 2002. She also attended school at Linn-Benton Community College.

Ms. Andersen was a dedicated, loving and compassionate woman, who cared for everyone she met. Many will remember her as a beautiful spirit.

She enjoyed going to sports practice with her son and socializing. She enjoyed her career at Oregon State University, where she had many fond things to say about all of her work friends.

Ms. Andersen is survived by her son, Anthony Andersen, 15; parents Eric and Suzette Andersen; and sisters Ashley Andersen Murphy and Elizabeth Andersen, all of Sweet Home.

Private funeral services will be held by her family and friends at a later date. She will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered at sea by her family.
