David Allen Kragness, 65, of Sweet Home, died Aug. 22, 2020.
He was born July 31, 1955 in Sweet Home to Bradley Omer and Naomi Elaine (Muenchow) Kragness.
He entered the United States Navy in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1975.
He lived in Portland and Sweet Home.
Mr. Kragness married his wife Angel on Oct. 18, 2006. He was a mill worker and also did iron work. Prior to retirement, he worked as a conductor for the railroad for 15 years.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, music, camping, playing pool, New York Times crossword puzzles, reading, pets and babies. He loved going on drives and especially loved family gettogethers with all the nieces and nephews.
He also enjoyed going to the Bohemian to be with all of his friends.
Mr. Kragness is survived by his wife of 26 years, Angel Kragness of Sweet Home; daughter Carly Herring of Corvallis; step-daughter Heather Burt of Sweet Home; step-son Ronald Nelson of Eugene; siblings Diane Zavolas, Jim Kragness, Jeff Kragness and Tim Kragness, all of Sweet Home; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bradly and Naomi Kragness.
A Celebration of Life potluck will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, at Sweet Home VFW Park.
