Welcome to a New School Year
September 9, 2020

Oak Heights school janitor Karen Polley creates a welcome message Wednesday, Sept. 2, for students and their parents, who strated the school year online Tuesday, Sept. 8. Although Labor Day Weekend numbers were unavailable at press time, initial indications were that, for the third week in a row, Linn County looked like it would be dipping below the 30-new-cases-per-100,000 population metric required to return K-3 students to classrooms. The limit for the rest of the student population is 10 cases per 100,000. These metrics have to be met for three weeks in a row for students to be allowed to attend class in person.
