County staffers remove a large Douglas fir that fell across Pleasant Valley Road in the 28500 block, about a mile west of Berlin Road, just before 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19. The tree knocked out power for three hours in the area and the county crew spent a good part of Friday clearing it off the road. Traffic was stopped on that section of Pleasant Valley for most of the day. Neighbor Larry Neilson said the tree had increasingly been leaning toward the road. He said it measured 5 feet in diameter at the base.
