Berdina Ann Emmert, 92, of Sweet Home, died Dec. 18, 2020.
She was born June 10, 1928 in Mountain Lake, Minn. to Lydia (Deckert) and Peter W. Balzer.
She became a Christian in high school and was baptized at the Delft Mennonite Brethren church in Delft, Minn.
After high school, she attended Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Neb.,where she met her future husband, Donald Ray Emmert from Sweet Home. They were married June 28, 1951.
The Emmerts later moved to Monroe, Wash., where Donald was a pastor and then to Goshen, Ind., for several years. They moved to Sweet Home in 1964, with a brief two-year stay in Peoria, Ariz.
They had recently moved to Albany.
Mrs. Emmert loved listening to classical music and reading.
She had three children, Beverly, Ron and Dean. In addition to being a dedicated wife, homemaker and loving mother, Mrs. Emmert also served in church activities throughout her entire life. She had many fond memories of teaching pre-K Sunday School and was involved in many church activities for many years. She held an unwavering faith in God.
Mrs. Emmert is survived by her husband, Donald Emmert of Albany; her three children, Beverly Terrien of Evry, France, Ron Emmert of Albany, and Dean Emmert of Eureka, Mo .; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Balzer; and sister, Delora Ewert.
