Evergreen Loop trees come down

Woodchuck Tree Service workers take down a stand of Douglas fir trees in Evergreen Loop Park, at the north end of Evergreen Lane, last week. City Public Works Director Greg Springman said that multiple neighbors had expressed concerns about the stability of the trees and that arborists had recommended they be taken down, after one fell on a nearby house. The city's Parks and Trees Commission recommended they be removed. Springman said he expects the city will install seating and, possibly, some smaller trees.
