Kelsey Noelle Harris, 31, of Sweet Home and Brownsville area, and a longtime resident of Milwaukie, died March 28, 2021.
She was born Dec. 19, 1989 in Portland to Lance F. and Kellee J. (Kneeland) Harris.
Ms. Harris grew up in Milwaukie and moved to Sweet Home to teach physical education at Sweet Home Junior High and coach JV girls soccer. She then moved to Lebanon High School, where she served as a school counselor and coached varsity girls tennis, JV girls soccer and assisted with the varsity girls soccer team.
Ms. Harris loved and raised many animals, including a rough collie, several cats, and numerous chickens, which she raised for their eggs. She loved and missed her St. Bernard, Floyd and a rescue retired Thoroughbred race horse named Foster.
Ms. Harris graduated from Linfield College with a B.A. in health education and from Concordia University with a master's degree in education. She received a scholarship to Bushnell University in Eugene, pursuing a master's degree in counseling.
Ms. Harris is survived by her parents, Lance and Kellee Harris of Milwaukie; sisters Kira and Kareena Harris of Portland; uncles Kreg Kneeland of Tucson, Ariz., and Kirk Kneeland of Eugene; aunts Kim Kneeland of Eugene and Kolynn Hagman of Salem; and by Greg Harris of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Dana Zeghers of Bowling Green, Ky., and Jay Harris of Beavercreek.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 2408 SE 16th Ave., Portland. The church will be recording and live streaming the service.
Memorial contributions can be made in Ms. Harris' name to Lebanon High School girls soccer team and/or Lebanon High School girls tennis team.
