Huskies start track season with burst of personal-best performances

After nearly two years of no track and field competition, Sweet Home's athletes were primed and ready Friday afternoon as they hosted Cascade in a dual meet.

The boys set 21 personal bests – three from Eddy Martinez-Maya, and the girls, who were not at full strength, recorded three.

"We had a lot of great performances across the board in all events," Head Coach Nathan Whitfield said. "We are getting people back from where they need to be from two years ago."

Team-wise, the boys were edged 238-236 by Cascade, which fielded 33 athletes to Sweet Home's 18.
