Sweet Home Cheerleading's Junior and Youth teams took home first place honors at the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association championships last week. Coach Amber Rosa said the cheerleaders at all levels have not been able to compete in live events, instead having to submit video of their performances. "They did not offer any in-person competitions whatever," she said of the OSAA and OCCA, which administer cheer competitions in Oregon. The high school team competed in an OSAA "culminating event" in which all the teams were rated, finishing as one of three 4A schools to receive an "Outstanding" rating. The high school team will compete in a separate state competition this weekend, she said. Junior Team members are, in front, from left, Katie Larsen, Hannah Sieminski, Ember Ogden and Amelia Berg. In second row, from left, are Gracie Vaughan, Peyton Lindsey, Kenadie King, Savannah Hooper, Ella Forum, Natalie Conn and Katriona (Peanut) Harris. In the rear, from left, are Coach Autumn Martin, Abbi Lovik, Kourtney Hayes, Kaylee Looney, Natalie Spencer, Coach Kayla Rosa and Jade Fields.
