Remembering Clara

June 16, 2021

Family and friends and their supporters gathered June 5 at the corner of 12th Avenue and Hawthorne street, where 2-year-old Clara Blackwell died after she fell out of a stroller and was struck by a moving vehicle. The memorial included a moment of silence and prayer of comfort for the family. Participants in the remembrance left blue balloons and flowers at the corner, because "Clara loved the color blue, she had just learned it and enjoyed pointing it out on different items," organizer Nelia Taraski said.
