Danger-tree reduction project set

The U.S. Forest Service released its danger-tree decision memo last week and will begin to implement its roadside danger-tree (any tree, or portion of a tree, that could cause injury or death) reduction project on the Detroit, McKenzie River and Sweet Home ranger districts.
The project will improve safety and access to forest system roads within areas affected by last year’s Holiday Farm, Beachie Creek and Lionshead fires that burned more than 176,000 acres.
