Cumberland Church move rescheduled to Sept. 28

The company relocating the historic Cumberland Church in Albany has announced the planned move will now take place on Tuesday, Sept. 28, according to Emma Eaton, president of the Cumberland Community Center.
Eaton said the company, Emmert International Moving Company of Portland, cited a lack of personnel to make the move safely on the original date, Thursday, Sept. 16.
The church is to be transported about 1,200 feet from the corner of Main Street down Santiam Road to its new location on Pine Street, near Eleanor Hackleman Park.
