Girls fall to two of league's best soccer teams

The Sweet Home girls soccer team got a taste of the best the 4A-3 Oregon West Conference has to offer last week, matching up against the league's two best teams, Woodburn and Philomath.

On Tuesday, Sept. 14, the Huskies were mercy-ruled by Woodburn 8-0 on the road. On Thursday, Sept. 16, they lost 6-0 to Philomath at Husky Field.

Woodburn's pace of play was too much for Sweet Home.

"It's their passing abilities and their speed," said Head Coach Ramiro Santana. "We just don't have the speed to match up. They are so good, so strong."
