Anthony David Avila, 79, of Sweet Home, died Oct. 1, 2021, at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
He was born June 2, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., to Manuel S. Avila and Mary M. (Freitas) Avila.
He was raised in Fremont, Calif., and worked for Lucky Stores. Later, he moved to Albany and worked at Safeway, Evanite Battery Separator, and retired from Hewlett Packard as a technician in the ink department.
Mr. Avila married Donna on June 24, 1972, in Reno Nev.
He enjoyed all things outdoors and working by his wife's side to make their home beautiful and welcoming for family and friends.
He cherished gatherings over BBQ and never rested until he knew his loved ones were comfortable.
Mr. Avila is survived by his wife, Donna; sons Tony and Chris; daughters Dawn, Tina and Sandra; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, he's survived by his sister Mary, of Florence, and nephew Grant.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 13 at St. Helens Catholic Church, following rosary at 10:30 a.m.
