Husky boys open with hoops win over Elmira, hang tough at Gladstone

Sweet Home boys basketball opened their season with a win at home followed by a loss on the road.

On Dec. 1, the Huskies prevailed in their opener over Elmira, 44-26.

Sophomore Nathan Aker led the team in scoring in his first varsity game, putting in 11 points on 4-7 shooting from the field. Seniors Russ Holly and Eddie Martinez each chipped in for 10 points, as Holly connected twice from behind the arc.

"I thought we played really good in that game, especially defensively," said Head Coach Drew Emmert. "You aren't going to lose many games holding teams to 26 points."
