Richard David Tabor, 81, of Albany, formerly of Sweet Home, died Nov. 17, 2021.
He was born May 24, 1940 in Detroit, Mich., to Richard Archibald and Cloe Jean (Keeran) Tabor.
Mr. Tabor graduated from Pershing High School and Western University of Michigan.
He served in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class and earned a nursing position at 49th Tac Hospital in Germany.
After his service he attended Cal Poly in Southern California and the University of Cincinnati.
He joined the fire department in Cincinnati and advanced to lieutenant and became a paramedic before retiring.
Mr. Tabor and his wife Nadra moved to Sweet Home from Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and, especially, gardening. He was recognized as a Master Gardener by the University of Oregon.
He is survived by his wife, Nadra Tabor of Albany; son John Tabor of Albany; and brother Phillip and sister-in-law Pattie of Flint, Mich.
Mr. Tabor was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Sharon and Lynn.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home (note date change).
