Fire destroys home on 46th Avenue; cause unknown

Firefighters battle the blaze in a house on 46th Avenue Dec. 21.

A fire with an undetermined cause burned a home at 1186 46th Avenue Tuesday morning, Dec. 21.

The fire originated in the main living room of the a 1,200-square-foot house, according to Lieutenant Josh Bondesen.

No one was injured in the blaze; homeowner Denis Jacobs was out of the house when the flames consumed it. The fire district estimates the property loss in the event to be $80,000.

The building was a complete loss, Bondesen said.

Sixteen firefighters, two fire engines from Sweet Home, one fire engine from Lebanon, a Sweet Home ladder truck, and a brush rig responded at 10:54 a.m....
