Sweet Home's girls finished fourth out of 12 teams at the Northwest Girls Duals wrestling tournament Thursday, Dec. 30, hosted by West Albany at the Linn County Expo Center.

Thurston, which beat the Huskies on criteria in their finals-bracket match, took home the trophy from the tournament, which included 155 girls, followed by McKay, Hillsboro and Sweet Home.

"Our girls showed up," Head Coach Steve Thorpe said, noting the finish with Thurston.

"They didn't win all their duals, but this was the first time for a bunch of them to ever wrestle in a dual. It was great to have them in a dual...
