The New Era - All about Sweet Home since 1929

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening, Jan. 22, near milepost 19 on Highway 228 south of Sweet Home.

According to the Oregon State Police, Marlin M. Weikel, 33, of Sweet Home, was traveling westbound in a blue Ford F150 when he lost control of its towed trailer, which crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a Toyota Camry driven by Sheila Marie Dooley, 40, of Scio. The trailer went over the Camry's top, causing significant damage before landing and coming to rest on its side, blocking the roadway.
