County computers back online after Jan. 24 ransomware attack

Linn County public services are coming back online after a ransomware attack was identified early Monday morning, Jan. 24, according to Administrative Officer Darrin Lane.
Lane said that the Clerk’s Office is again able to record documents, one of the more significant issues affecting the general public.
County IT staff members are working extended hours to restore critical systems including servers and individual computers.
“We are recovering, providing services and making significant progress,” Lane said.
