Arrests in attack on teen now at five

Sweet Home Police Department announced Friday, Feb. 25, that they have arrested four additional suspects in the Feb. 9 assault on a 13-year-old Sweet Home student.

A total of five individuals are in custody in connection with the attack, police said.

The suspects in custody are charged as follows:

14-year-old male of Albany arrested for assault III and disorderly conduct II.

15-year-old female of Sweet Home arrested for assault III and disorderly conduct II.

15-year-old female of Albany arrested for assault III and disorderly conduct II.

16-year-old male of Albany arrested for assault III and disorderly conduct II.

18-year-old male, Dakota House of Albany, arrested for riot, assault III, robbery II, disorderly conduct II and recklessly endangering.

Videos of the assault aided officers in the investigation, police said. First, the footage showed a group of people pushing, punching, and kicking the victim. Then, one attacker, later identified as Dakota House, picked him up and tossed him into some bushes.

The last subject remaining is a 21-year-old male from the Albany area. His name is being withheld so as not to hamper the investigation, police said.

Investigators are continuing to flush out the motivation aspect of this case. However, according to a statement from the department, they believe this may have been a misidentification.
