Sankey Park event celebrates, supports Sweet Home teen

Dozens of well-wishers from around the state gathered at Sankey Park on the afternoon of Feb. 15 to cheer 13-year-old Gavin Doner up with cool cars and gifts, after the Sweet Home Junior High student was assaulted near a Sweet Home High School parking lot on Feb. 9.
Dozens of people from around the state arrived at Sankey Park on the afternoon of Tuesday, February 15, to support 13-year-old Sweet Home Junior High student Gavin Doner, who was jumped and beaten by a group of older teens near a Sweet Home High School parking lot on Feb. 9.
(Police have arrested five people suspected of participating in the incident, including 18-year-old Dakota Alan Ray House, plus four juveniles: a 15-year-old Sweet Home girl, and a 14-year-old boy, 15-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy, all from Albany.
