The New Era - All about Sweet Home since 1929

Sweet Home’s golf season started Thursday and Friday, March 17 and 18, in Bandon.

Coach Ron Moore took seniors Morgan Sands and Joseph Hiemenz, and sophomore Chet Garrett to a two-day match-up with Cascade and Marshfield at the Bandon Trails and Bandon Crossings courses.

Sands shot a personal-best 90 on Thursday at Bandon Trails to finish sixth, then followed that up with an 88 on Friday at Bandon Crossings to set another PR.

Hiemenz shot 121 at Bandon Trails and 106 at Bandon Crossings. Garrett carded a 132 at Bandon Trails, playing only on Thursday.
