Margaret W. "Peggy" Bristow, 96, of Sweet Home, died April 29, 2022.
She was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Oxford, Pa., to Charles Elzey and Rosine Sarah (Buker) Warrington.
She spent her childhood and teenage years growing up between two brothers, Charles and Harvey, playing field hockey, enjoying daily nickel dances during school lunches and spending summers on her grandparent's farm.
She graduated from Sharon Hill High School in 1944.
In 1991, Mrs. Bristow moved to Sweet Home to be near family. She loved to golf and play bridge at the Senior Center, making friends with all she met. After committing her life to Christ, she loved to find ways to serve family and friends, such as folding bulletins at the Community Chapel and ironing for Roger and Sue Swigart.
She will be remembered for her laughter, her love, and her commitment to her family.
Mrs. Bristow is survived by her son Greg and daughter-in-law Sandi Diehl of Salem; daughters Karen and son-in-law Rob Younger of Sweet Home, and Sandi and son-in-law Steve Emmert of Salem; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles and Harvey.
Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Gilliland Cemetery.
