A graveside service for World War II Navy veteran Jesse Harvey Sharp, 95, of Sweet Home, who died Dec. 24, 2021, is planned for May 31.
Mr. Sharp was born May 31, 1926 in Little Rock, Wash., to Isabel Samuel and Ruth Laura (West) Sharp.
He lived in the Sweet Home/Lebanon area for over 50 years. He spent his last three years at The Oaks in Lebanon. Â
He liked to fish on the Snake River every year at the Copperfield campground. He spent years tying flies and sold them at small sporting good stores. He was a lifelong logger and retired from Willamette Industries in Sweet Home.
Mr. Sharp is survived by his daughters, Anita Rolfe of Eugene, and Susan Shuler of Camas, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Sharp, daughter Dixie Strain and his siblings.
A graveside service, with military honors, will take place 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Lewis Cemetery.
