Tyler becomes new Sweet Home fire chief

Nick Tyler was sworn in Tuesday, May 17, as the Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District's newest fire chief.
He succeeds Dave Barringer, who'd held the position since 2014.
The 44-year-old Tyler, a Sweet Home resident, is a former Lebanon Fire District battalion chief, having served in that capacity since 2017. He was also an engineer and paramedic at the department from 2007 to 2015, when he became its lieutenant of recruitment and retention.
