Kelly R. Jones (Scanlon) died June 9, 2021.
She was born June 4, 1953, in San Diego, Calif., to George Scanlon and Jeanne Cammett. Her father was stationed there, and they traveled the country till moving to Sweet Home in 1962 where she was raised.
She grew up doing theater, cheer, choir, and so much more.
Started her family there with Robert Jones; they later parted ways.
She loved being on sports teams in bowling, softball, and pool. She was a member of the Eagles in Albany.
Kelly built great memories and team of friends working as office manager of the Albany Timber Carnival. She then worked for the State of Oregon until retirement.
Her greatest loves were friends and family so that included holidays, watching her grandson run cross-country and track and field, BBQs, camping, coast trips and family trips to Estes Park.
She moved to Colorado in retirement to be closer to her son's family for a few years before coming back to Oregon. Almost immediately on return she was unexpectedly taken by cancer.
Survivors include daughter Angie Jones of Portland; son Chris Jones, daughter-in-law Lisa Jones and grandson Jordan Jones, all of Colorado.
Kelly was preceded in death by two sisters, Maureen Haynes in 1996 and Randy Scanlon in 1955: two brothers, Patrick and Michael, father George Scanlon in 2002, and mother Jeanne Cammett in 2002.
Kelly has now joined her mom, dad, sisters and brothers after many years missing them all.
A Celebration of Life will be held Aug. 9 in Lincoln City. Ashes will be spread there and other favorite places where she held special memories.
