Highway 20 closure delayed to Sept. 11

The planned Highway 20 construction closure east of Sweet Home has been delayed until Sunday, Sept. 11, for traveler safety, the Oregon Department of Transportation announced Thursday evening.
The road will be open Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10. Travelers are cautioned to drive carefully with the weather-related power outage planned Friday, and to treat traffic signal without power like a four-way stop. Hot, dry winds may prompt power line shutoffs to prevent fires. Trees and vegetation may be on the road. Careful parking is also advised to prevent vehicle-sparked fires.
