Weekend rains end burn ban

The weekend rains triggered the start of backyard burning season Monday, Oct. 24.
Linn County Fire Defense Board Chiefs had delayed the start of backyard burning, which typically opens Oct. 1, due to the extended drought conditions.
Burn seasons typically run through Dec. 15, and from March 1 to June 15.
