Sweet Home Junior High has inaugurated a new award: Student of the Month.
Principal Mark Looney said one student from each home room, selected by the home room teacher, will be honored each month.
It's an effort to re-establish normalcy as students progress from the coronavirus pandemic experience, he said.
"What we're looking for, the more we can say we are in a normal year, the better we can become," Looney said.
The award will be based on the demonstration of qualities such as respect, kindness and compassion, etc., Looney said.
