Ruth Lisbeth Powers, 73, of Foster, died Oct. 24, 2022.

She was born Jan. 28, 1949, in San Francisco, Calif., to Champion Nicholas and Miriam Hope (Collier) Nixon.

She grew up in Mountain View, Calif. She lived in Eugene, Albany, Brownsville and Lebanon.

Mrs. Powers was a longtime postal employee working as postmaster at different times for Cascadia, Foster and Crawfordsville.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. She loved her dog Carl a great deal. She loved traveling to Alaska, Georgia and cross-country driving.

Mrs. Powers is survived by her husband, Greg Powers of Foster; siblings Meredith Tatch of Valdos-ta, Ga., Forrest Nixon of San Jose, Calif., and Jackie Wheeler of Albany; and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Champion Nicholas Nixon in 2005; and Miriam Hope Nixon in 2003.

Private services will be held at a later date.
