Josephine "Jo" Elizabeth Germain, 78, of Sweet Home, died Nov. 28, 2022.

She was born Jan. 5, 1944, in Culver City, Calif., to William Roy and Verva Margaret (Morgan) Ackley.

She moved to Sweet Home in 1995 from Valley Center, Calif.

Mrs. Germain worked 12 years and retired from the City of Sweet Home. She volunteered backstage hospitality for the Oregon Jamboree about 12 years.

She loved her family and her dog Bo with her whole heart. She loved Christmas, decorating her Christmas trees, decorating for weddings, going to see live music concerts, watching football, volunteering, dancing, cooking, and shoes. Being with family and friends was most important to her.

Mrs. Germain is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Fred J. Germain; daughter Joy K. Germain and Bill Crane, both of Sweet Home; son David W. and daughter-in-law Kim Germain of Philomath; and two grandsons.

Mrs. Germain was preceded in death by her parents, William and Verva Ackley; sisters Mary Mackey and Elsie Buell; and brother William R. Ackley.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
