Free state park hikes offered Jan. 1

Oregonians can start the new year with free guided first-day hikes led by rangers and volunteers in 20 Oregon state parks on Sunday, Jan. 1.
Choosing from 23 hikes in 20 parks, participants will learn about the history, geology, wildlife and
plants at parks around the state from the high desert to the coast.
Hikes are free and the $5 day-use parking fee is waived that day for all open state parks requiring a parking permit.
