Boys basketball: Huskies struggle against top-shooting teams

In a week of stiff competition, Sweet Home boys basketball fell to two of the top ten teams in the state, losing at No. 5 North Marion 65-27 on Jan. 31 and to No. 8 Stayton at home 70-26 on Feb. 2.

The results extended the Huskies' losing streak to 17 games.

In the Tuesday game, North Marion (14-3) jumped out to a 25-12 lead by halftime before dominating the third quarter 29-6. The other Huskies outshot Sweet Home (1-17) from the field 49.0% to 27.3%. Sweet Home turned the ball over 22 times while forcing 15.
