A Foster man was killed just before daylight Wednesday morning, Feb. 8, in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 228, Oregon State Police reported.

OSP troopers and Sweet Home emergency personnel responded at approximately 6 a.m. to the crash on the highway near milepost 19.

According to OSP, a preliminary investigation revealed that Michael L. Stalford, 40, of Foster, was traveling westbound in a silver GMC Canyon on Highway 228 when he lost control crossing the eastbound lane and struck a large tree.
