Penny Marie Gaylord, 78, of Sweet Home, died Feb. 7, 2023, in Albany.
She was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Vallejo, Calif., to Walter and Mae (Self) Still.
She moved to Portland from Sacramento, Calif., in 1965 with her first husband, Tom Jennings.
They lived in the Milwaukie and Portland area between 1966 and 1969, buying their first home in Beavercreek and residing there until 1972.
In 1973 she married Earl Seward and they bought their first home together in Sweet Home, raising six children together.
She met and married Edward Gaylord in 1998 and they took a short amount of time to travel and enjoy each other's company before selling their home in Sweet Home and moving to La Pine for a couple of years and then to Lebanon, for a couple more.
Mrs. Gaylord then moved back and forth between Oregon and Florida, with a short stay to build a house in Missouri with her husband.
Mrs. Gaylord was a member of TOPS weight loss and support club from 1966 to 1980. She enjoyed traveling, home rebuild and renovation, barbecueing and playing cards with friends.
She was a bartender, bouncer and bookkeeper for Vic's Tavern in Milwaukie for 10 years.
After being baptized in Christ, she became a church secretary for the Assembly of God church, bookkeeper for Sweet Home Bookkeeping and finally the City Recorder and Clerk for the City of Sodaville.
Mrs. Gaylord is survived by her husband, Edward Gaylord; stepsons Russ and daughter-in-law Dee Gaylord, and Ron and daughter-in-law Connie Gaylord; biological children, daughters Lorri and son-in-law Donnie Roberts, and Michaelle and son-in-law Allen Hoffman, and sons Tom and daughter-in-law Penny Jennings, John and daughter-in-law Angie Jennings, Robert and daughter-in-law Kim Jennings, and Michael and daughter-in-law Andrea Jennings; 34 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Still; mother Mae Still; husbands Tom Jennings and Earl Seward; stepchildren Helen Simpson, Roxey Tripp, Steve Newsome and Jeff Gaylord; and step-grandson Donny Roberts.
A Celebration of Life will be held Aug. 18, Mrs. Gaylord's birthday, at Beverly Beach Park in Newport. Contact person Lorri Roberts.
