Bernice Katheren Davis, 84, of Sweet Home, died Feb. 28, 2023, in Warrenton.

She was born May 11, 1938, in Hanford, Calif., to James Anderson and Gladys Peggy (Robinson) Fletcher.

Mrs. Davis lived in California, Idaho and Oregon. She moved to Sweet Home in 1969.

She worked a variety of jobs through the years, such as cotton picker, grape picker, store clerk, Bumble Bee in Astoria in the late 1970s and Pacific Seafood in Warrenton in the early 1980s. She loved gardening, crocheting, puzzles and taking care of her family. 

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond H. Davis of Lebanon; children Cindy and son-in-law Kevin Carson of Astoria, Duane Davis of Sweet Home, Jennifer and son-in-law Danny Goodwin of Warrenton, Terry Davis and his partner Mark of West Virginia, and Donald and daughter-in-law Jodi Davis of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. 

A celebration of life was held March 4 at the Sweet Home VFW. Private burial took place at Gilliland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in her name be made to her favorite charities: Shriner's, St. Jude or Wounded Warrior Program.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
