Car Fire on Ridgeway

Battalion Chief Randy Whitfield hoses down a burning vehicle on Friday, March 17, near the intersection of Ridgeway Road and Shadow Lane.
The call came in at 3:08 p.m.
According to Whitfield, Sherry Costa, 46, of Sweet Home, was driving up the hill when the 1999 Chevy Astrovan she occupied started to smoke. She got off to the side of the road and it caught on fire. Whitfield said he believed it was something mechanically broken in the vehicle that caused the blaze.The vehicle was totaled. No one was hurt in the incident.
