March 1973: Twelve girls from Brownie Troop 197, with leaders Mrs. Dennis Jones and Mrs. Dennis Dunmeyer visited the Oak Hurst Nursing Home, where each girl chose a grandparent for the afternoon, sang songs, presented a Scouting opening and closing ceremony, shared refreshment and were given a toy octopus made of knobby chenille. Here Harold Salaway, owner of the nursing home, Mrs. Jones and head nurse Mrs. Osie Danielson interact with the Brownies.

The Sweet Home Rock and Mineral Society will give away a commemorative keychain to those who attend the 25th annual banquet.

The idea to create keychains made from quarters with the words, "Sweet Home Rock Club 25th Anniversary 3-73" came from Jerry (Mrs. George) Mealey.

New faces and new ideas added interest to the Sportsman's Holiday Steering Committee meeting.

Jerry Mealey suggested annually selling Sportsman's T-shirts with slogans, rock music group "Hot Potato" threw their hat in the ring to perform, the AAU Swim Club suggested a swim-a-thon, and Western Mining Assoc....
